Youth Track Breakout III: Presentation Skills
Featuring: Dana Mitchell, MPA, CPS; and the Dover Youth2Youth Team
Teaches techniques that develop the 4 core elements of effective public speaking (projection, speed control, vocal animation, and physical animation). Highly interactive 30-minute base presentation uses audience participation to illustrate key concepts. Opening portion is generally followed by exercises in breakout groups that apply concepts taught in the session – including application of the skills to actual prevention media and material. OPTIONAL: Can be tailored to focus on teaching adults to teach these skills or it can be conducted to emphasize a certain type of presentation: delivering written text, public speaking, fielding questions, or theatrical performances.
