Capacity Breakout IV: Capacity and How to Think Outside the Box

In 2003, Lindsay was awarded The Volunteer Appreciation Award from the Johnston County School Board for her service within the community. Graduated from West Johnston High School, Johnston County NC in 2004. Attended The University of North Carolina Asheville and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Wellness Promotion and a minor in Literature in 2010. Lindsay received an award for Excellence in Service from the Health and Wellness Department before graduating. She began working in Diabetes Prevention at the YWCA in Asheville in 2008; after graduating from UNC Asheville in 2010 Lindsay went on to work for ARP which is now RHA Prevention Resource Center as The Buncombe County Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator and Coordinator for The Partnership for Substance Free Youth in Buncombe County. Graduated from the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America or CADCA Academy in 2012. Was awarded one of the Top 40 Under 40 Young Professionals in Asheville in 2012. In 2013 Lindsay received her certification- Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Consultant (CSAPC). Also in 2013, Lindsay was elected to the North Carolina Prevention Providers Association, which is a state board that acts as a liaison between Prevention Providers and the NC State Prevention Department. Lindsay was able to secure funding for The Partnership Coalition through, local, state and federal dollars so that it remains sustainable within the community. In 2016, Lindsay was accepted into the Training of Trainers for CADCA program. Lindsay joined the Western Youth Network Inc, non-profit in Boone, North Carolina in December of 2017 as the Director of Prevention Services. In February of 2018 at the CADCA Forum, Lindsay was awarded Advocate of the Year for her work with her local representatives and coalition advocacy. Lindsay and her husband, Michael, live in Hickory, North Carolina with their dog Bailey.
